Tayrona National Park

in this blog we will talk about Tayrona National Park These are some of their characteristics:

Tayrona National Park is located in the Caribbean Region in Colombia,Its surface is part of the department of Magdalena.
to 34 km from the city of Santa Marta is one of the most important natural parks of Colombia. Is home to a large number of species that are distributed in regions with different climatic zones ranging from sea level to heights of 900m.Of the 15,000 acres that make up the park, 3,000 are offshore.
*fauna:The park is rich in biodiversity. In 2007, there were listed:
.Mammals: 108 species among which the howler monkey, ocelot, capuchin monkeys, deer and more than 70 species of bats.
.Birds: 300 species among which are the lone eagle.
.Reptiles: 31 species.
.Amphibians: 15 species.
.Sponges: 202 Species.
.Crustacea: 471 species.
.Annelids: 96 species.
.Mollusks: 700 species.
.Corals: 110 species.
.Fish: 401 including marine and aquaculture.
*flora:In the coastal strip of the park are spread over 350 species of algae while the ground flora has more than 770 different plant species.
*In the area of the park are archaeological ruins that denote the existence of human settlements in the Tayrona tribe that occupied the region since pre-Columbian times until well into the settlement (perhaps centuries XV and XVI)
*weather:The predominant climate in the park is tropical and humid with temperatures ranging between 25 and 35 ° C.
It has two seasons: winter and summer being the first one characterized by heavy rainfall. Sometimes and in some areas, such as the area of "Reef" is a layer of fog that is retained by small mountains, observing the effect at dawn and dusk.
*Sites of Interest:Although it is a nature reserve, the park conditioning services for ecotourism. Numerous natural sights and hiking can be found in different areas of the park. Prominent among them:
.Chairama Archaeological Museum. Located in an area known as Canaveral, near the mouth of the River Piedras. It has a permanent archaeological exhibition.

  3. The Tayrona Park is an amazing place to enjoy and admire the beauty of nature but also, to have a funny and relaxing time surrounded by peace and freshness... I love this place and I´d go there many times... Good pictures...
